Integrated Manual Therapies for Pain Relief & Enhanced Life
Reiki recognizes that the body is not simply a collection is disparate parts, but a whole, integrated functioning unit that has physical, energetic and spiritual parameters. It is an ultimate integrative therapy, because it works on so many levels.
Reiki Usui or, Shamballa is an energy technique discovered and developed in Japan by a physician named Dr. Usui in the late 19th century, and further developed by a healer named Hari Das in 1990.The energy addressed, called chi, is understood as the life force that surrounds everything. Practitioners trained in these forms of Reiki are especially connected or “attuned” to chi energy by a Reiki Master, and can direct its flow into their clients and clear energy blockages. This can be done either by direct touch or by the practitioner holding their hands above the body.
The chi of Reiki is the same chi recognized by Chinese traditional acupuncture. Reiki uses the chi flow through the practitioner to the client to clear them globally and energetically rebalance them. The concept in Reiki is that the flow of energy will go where it is needed in the body to promote healing. When used in conjunction with other therapies, it increases their effectiveness. Its efficacy is recognized today in many hospitals and used by the staff to facilitate physical and emotional healing.
Clients might feel an increase in relaxation, increased warmth in an unblocked area, an emotional release, or a decrease in pain in the body.
Physical symptoms addressed
Because Reiki energy works in harmony with all other forms of healing, including drugs, surgery, psychological care or any other method of alternative care, it will improve the results. It has been effective in alleviating the symptoms of chemotherapy, slowing blood loss during surgery, releasing trauma held in the body, accelerating muscular release, and clearing energy blockages within the body, so that healing can happen. It is a universal treatment for everything.
Reiki increases the benefits of bodywork by allowing healing energy or chi to flow freely throughout the body. This allows the client to return to homeostasis, or a balanced state where the whole body works together in harmony. This is the goal of all alternative health therapies.
