Integrated Manual Therapies for Pain Relief & Enhanced Life

Lymph Drainage Therapy

If you are looking for an all-natural way to remove cellulite, get rid of puffiness, support breast health, detoxify your whole system after a fast or illness, or heal from surgery more quickly, consider this therapy that has become generally available in New England.

Lymphatic Drainage Therapy (LDT) is bodywork which works with the lymph fluid surrounding every cell and circulating through the lymphatic system of the body. The lymph fluid circulation is critical to life. A person would die within 24 hours if it stopped circulating. Releasing excess lymph allows better blood circulation and increases the amount of oxygen available to the tissues, which accelerates healing.

The LDT trained therapist works with flat hands, to enhance gentle wave-like movements of lymph that exist in the healthy body. These subtle hands-on maneuvers promote the flow of lymph and interstitial fluid through the body. Healthy lymph flow also improves functioning of the immune and parasympathetic nervous system. Organs can be detoxified by direct lymphatic work on them. Lymph Drainage Therapy is deeply relaxing, and can show visible results of reduced swelling in a single session.

Physical Symptoms Addressed

Lymphatic drainage reduces the swelling due to the accumulation of excess lymph anywhere in the body, due to surgery, disease, inactivity, and scarring. It detoxifies the whole body challenged by disease and the stress of living in a toxic environment.

Women in particular have additional benefits from LDT. Cellulite is actually a toxic combination of static lymph trapped in fat that forms in the presence of estrogen. Releasing this lymph reduces the unsightly lumps of cellulite and is an important detoxification for the body. Excess lymph in the face can be released, and in combination with CranioSacral therapy can result in a much younger and healthier appearance. It is an important tool in promoting breast health, because it detoxifies the fatty tissue that tends to accumulate toxins, and because many women wear bras that eliminates the natural bouncing motion that clears them of stagnant lymph. Regular LDT helps rid the breasts of these toxins naturally, and promotes enhanced breast health.

Results

Lymph Drainage Therapy can reduce symptoms of chronic fatigue syndrome and chronic pain (insert link to page), detoxify the body, and induce deep relaxation to reduce stress. It stimulates the body’s healing after surgery, and can cut surgical recovery times in half. The therapy can also be used to clear stagnated lymph fluid in swellings, cellulite deposits and breasts. It is also used to treat autoimmune disorders, release scars and to aid trauma release from the body.

TESTIMONIAL

“Five times, prior to my hysterectomy, Mimi Rhys worked on draining my sizable stores of lymphatic buildup. I had heard that lymphatic drainage before a surgery helped speed healing time. Mimi, I discovered, had a new drainage technique in her considerable bag of tricks. (I had had lymph drainage with five or six different practitioners over the last twenty years – all to no effect.) The lymphatic drainage was a God send.”
